The
Unmanned Scale Attendant |
If your truck drivers can point and shoot, they
can weigh themselves in with total accuracy!
|
|
Close the office at night and keep on hauling
modules --- with complete peace of mind that the data will be
accurately collected and recorded. Your truck drivers never leave
their trucks.
Drive on the scales - Scan the load number -
Scan the truck number - Drive off
|
As the truck driver returns with a module, he drives on to
the scales. A 40" x 8" scrolling marquee in the office window
displays the truck weight and prompts the driver to scan the load number.
With a cordless RF bar code scanner, the driver scans the bar coded load
tag, which displays the customer name and load number on the marquee.
After the system receives the load number, another message prompts the
driver to scan the truck number. The driver then uses the same scanner to
scan the bar coded truck number, which is permanently affixed inside the
truck. When the system receives the truck number, a message tells the
driver that all information was successfully transferred and prompts him
to exit the scales. The load number, truck tare weight, and gross weight
are displayed beneath the "SUCCESS PLEASE EXIT" message on the
marquee. (In the rare event that the information was not received, the
gross weight will still be displayed on the marquee for the driver to
record manually). The system can be used both day and night in conjunction
with the existing manual entry 'Weigh In' screen. Either way, the system
still has complete error checking that will not allow duplicates or
invalid data.
